NSK Receives 2023 Manufacturing & Machine Tool Award for Technical Achievement from the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers

NSK has received the 2023 Manufacturing & Machine Tool Award for Technical Achievement from the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.

About the Award

The Award is given to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to manufacturing and machine tools through the development of new technologies, products, and manufacturing methods.

Since its establishment in 1998, the award has been given to individuals who have developed epoch-defining and outstanding technologies that have changed the landscape of the manufacturing and machine tool industry, and the award has attracted attention as a sign of trends in manufacturing.

Evaluation

The award recognizes Dr. Arai's achievements in establishing a unique machine design framework and developing machine tool state stabilization technology.

The NSK Feed Drive Adjuster™ was exhibited at JIMTOF 2022 (31st Japan International Machine Tool Fair) as an embodiment of state stabilization technology. The technology enables advanced automation of machine tools and delivers environmental benefits from a new perspective, opening up new possibilities in the field of manufacturing. Although the NSK Feed Drive Adjuster is not yet available, it has made significant waves in industry circles.

Comment from Dr. Arai: I am honored to receive the award for efforts to create new value by integrating the design of machines and component parts. NSK will continue its efforts towards further value creation and real-world implementation.
