NSK Ltd. (NSK; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Norio Otsuka) has developed and is set to launch random matching products with high load capacity that will enable customers to purchase rails and ball slides for NSK's PU/PE Miniature Linear Guide Series in any combination they like.
Since its launch in 2003, the PU/PE Miniature Linear Guide Series has been well received and widely accepted in both Japanese and overseas markets because of the outstanding features it offers. These include a high motion performance that ensures a smoother motion and a design that ensures easier assembly by preventing balls from dropping out of the ball slide. Not only that, it has a light weight and low inertia suited to providing high acceleration and deceleration rates.
NSK has developed random matching products with high load capacity and added them to the lineup for the PU/PE Series. Built based on existing high-load capacity models, these products have been improved in terms of the precision of the rail and ball slide sizes and are now sold in random combinations of rails and ball slides, meeting the demand for quicker deliveries in markets such as those for semiconductor/liquid crystal production equipment, medical equipment, and inspection equipment.
Inventory-controlled and sold on a single-unit basis, these products contribute to a shortening of delivery times, enabling customers to reduce their stocks.
NSK is set to launch these products in January 2010 and aims to achieve total sales worth one billion yen for the whole series by 2011. NSK exhibited these new products at SEMICON Japan 2009, an exhibition that was held from December 2 through 4.
Offering a wide range of applications, these products can be used with semiconductor production equipment, liquid crystal production equipment, medical equipment, inspection equipment, and various types of compact precision stages.
These products are friendly to the environment as they are completely free from any environmentally hazardous materials.
