NSK Selected for Inclusion in CDP’s “A List” for Climate Change Disclosure | NSK
Contributing to carbon neutrality and other initiatives in the environmental field, NSK is creating environmentally friendly products leveraging its tribology and manufacturing technologies. The company is pursuing energy conservation, technological innovation, and the use of renewable energy to reduce CO2 and other GHG emissions from its manufacturing processes, and taking initiatives across its entire supply and value chain — from raw material procurement, production, and logistics, to product use by NSK customers, to end-of-life.
NSK is focused on reducing emissions driven by raw materials, such as steel, and by procured components, which together account for a significant share of its total GHG emissions. In addition to implementing thorough energy-saving measures, NSK shares its environmental policies and initiatives with suppliers to strengthen collaboration, while also supporting emissions calculations and promoting data collection. Since fiscal 2022, NSK has strengthened these efforts, expanding collaboration to 58 companies, including suppliers with no capital ties. On a procurement value basis, these efforts now cover approximately 80% of components. NSK believes that its ongoing commitment to these initiatives, together with its proactive disclosure, contributed to achieving the highest rating in this assessment.
