NSK Selected as a “2023 Asia-Pacific Climate Change Leader”

  • NSK was evaluated highly for amount of Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions

NSK has been selected as one of the top 275 companies with outstanding environmental achievements in the “Asia-Pacific Climate Change Leaders” survey conducted jointly by the Financial Times and Statista. Of the 275 companies, 130 are Japanese companies.

“Asia Pacific Climate Change Leaders,” a ranking of 275 companies that made significant progress in reducing their emissions intensity* of Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gases from 2016 to 2021. NSK was recognized for reducing its emissions intensity through various initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during the period under review.

* Emissions intensity = Greenhouse gas emissions / Net sales

Background

NSK is promoting ESG management throughout the NSK Group, and is working on environmental conservation as a part of its comprehensive environmental measures under its “Create and Utilize” approach. “Utilize” refers to customers' and end users' use of NSK products resulting in reducing emissions, and “Create” is about manufacturing NSK products in carbon neutral plants.

NSK is accelerating the reduction of CO2 emissions by introducing high-efficiency production equipment at many of our sites, using energy-efficient air conditioning and lighting, installing solar panels, and switching to electricity derived from renewable energy sources.
