The Japan Fair is a side event of TICAD VI with approximately 100 participating organizations including Japanese companies, government agencies, and universities. Its goal is to showcase Japanese technology and products to various African nations. The exhibit zones at the venue featured a variety of fields that Japan is expected to contribute to in Africa, including infrastructure maintenance, countermeasures for climate change, and improved health and sanitation.

NSK showcased its hub unit bearings, which support automobile axle shafts, and its high-performance NSKHPS™ series of standard bearings, which are used in mining equipment.

* TICAD stands for “Tokyo International Conference on African Development,” an international conference with the goal of supporting African development. Since 1993 the Japanese government has taken the lead, conducting the conference in collaboration with the United Nations, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the African Union Commission, and the World Bank.
