Tokyo, Japan, April 4, 2008 - NSK Ltd. (NSK; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Seiichi Asaka) has reopened its exhibition booth at Science Museum in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
Riding an aerobike called the ‘Bearing Traveler’, visitors can explore the world of micro- to macro-scale bearings.
Pedaling the bike causes small balls around a giant kaleidoscope designed in the image of a giant bearing to rotate. An audio-visual presentation of one of five settings in which bearings are used, ranging from the home to the sky and space, is played back as you pedal, with the video displayed depending on how fast you pedal.
Colorful kaleidoscopes designed with a bearings motif are displayed next to the traveler, and these give visitors the opportunity to see the smooth rotation of bearings, which is something we are not usually aware of.
Why not visit the museum and give it a try for yourself.
