Corrosion-Resistant Bearings

Overview

Corrosion-Resistant Bearings

Highly corrosion-resistant bearings are used in tough environments where water, weak/strong acids, alkali, or reactive gases are present.

Our stainless steel, hybrid, Molded-Oil™, and coated bearings stand up to moist and wet environments while our ceramic and ESZ bearings withstand weak acid and alkaline environments. For environments where strong acids and reactive gases are present, we offer ceramic bearings and Aqua-Bearings™.

Product List

Stainless Steel Bearings

Stainless steel bearings, a standard line in our SPACEA Series for special environments, are affordable options especially suited for high-humidity environments.

Features

  • Corrosion-resistant
  • Resistant to wet/humid environments
Stainless steel bearings provide long-life even when exposed to water splashes, etc.

Applications

  • Wide applications
Stainless steel bearings are used in all kinds of machines exposed to high humidity.
  • Transport/conveyance equipment
Molded-Oil™ Bearings

Molded-Oil™ bearings feature a special material that provides a continuous supply of lubricating oil, allowing them to stand up to dust-contaminated environments at atmospheric pressure.

Features

  • Resistant to wet/humid environments
Molded-Oil bearings provide long-life even when exposed to water splashes, etc.
  • Improved cleanliness
No need for grease refilling minimizes oil leakage.

Applications

  • Washers in semiconductor production
  • Washers in hard disk manufacturing
Hybrid Bearings

Hybrid bearings combine ceramic balls with fluororesin self-lubricating cages to achieve excellent resistance to corrosion at both atmospheric pressure and in vacuum.

Features

  • Grease-free
Lubrication provided by solid lubricant eliminates the need for grease.
  • Highly corrosion-resistant
Approximately 5 times more resistant to corrosion in water than stainless steel bearings.

Applications

  • Fruit washers
  • Washing equipment used in fishing/fisheries
Corrosion-Resistant Coated Bearings

Corrosion-resistant coated bearings feature a nickel coating on the outer and inner rings to enhance durability.

They stand up to high-temperature corrosive environments at atmospheric pressure.

Features

  • Highly resistant to corrosion
A specialized coating provides excellent corrosion resistance.
  • Suitable around disinfectants
Coated bearings can also be used in environments with hypochlorous acid and oxonia.

Applications

  • Disinfecting equipment
  • Etching equipment
Highly Corrosion-Resistant ESZ Bearings with High Hardness Stainless Steel

ESZ bearings use specialized high-hardness stainless steel to offer better corrosion resistance than martensitic stainless steel.

With 30% greater hardness and corrosion resistance equal to precipitation-hardened stainless steel, these bearings stand up to tough corrosive environments at atmospheric pressure.

Features

  • Highly corrosion-resistant
ESZ bearings provide exceptional resistance to corrosion outclassing other stainless steel bearings.
  • Long-life
Anti-wear properties contribute to long operating life.

Applications

  • High-performance film washing equipment
  • Beverage sterilizers
All-Ceramic Bearings (Oxide-Based Ceramic Bearings)

With ceramic outer/inner rings and balls, nonmagnetic all-ceramic bearings have self-lubricating fluororesin cages to achieve excellent resistance to corrosion at both normal atmospheric pressure and in vacuum.

Features

  • Non-magnetic construction
An all-ceramic structure gives these bearings the highest resistance to corrosion.
  • Long-life
Anti-wear properties contribute to long operating life.

Applications

  • Chemical mechanical polishing/planarization (CMP) equipment
  • Electron beam lithography equipment
Aqua-Bearings™: Highly Corrosion-Resistant Resin Bearings

Aqua-Bearings™ feature special fluororesin outer/inner rings and cages equipped to meet a broad range of applications in water, alkali, and strong acid environments. Aqua-bearings are suitable for corrosive environments at normal atmospheric pressure.

FAQs

answersHybrid bearings, Aqua-Bearings, and all-ceramic bearings are all suited for use in water.
Most of these bearings don't have seals; however, even those with seals cannot fully prevent the entry of water.

answersStainless steel bearings and corrosion-resistant coated bearings are suited for use in saline environments.
