NSK K1-L lubricating units are made of a porous synthetic resin containing abundant lubricating oil. Through contact between the surface of the K1-L unit and the rail raceway close to the ball contact point, the NSK K1-L unit constantly supplies fresh oil to where it is needed most.

K1-L Lubrication Units

Design Features

  • Composed of a porous synthetic resin containing abundant lubricating oil - approximately 85% by weight
  • Sliding friction and heat generated between the K1-L unit and the linear rail raceway creates a constant release of fresh oil over a long period of time, preventing premature wear and achieving optimal operating life
  • Also absorbs excess oil and re-releases repeatedly to consistently meet lubrication requirements
  • Available for NH/NS, DH/DS, VH and HS series linear guides

Operating Benefits

  • Extended maintenance-free operation with newly developed material delivering lubrication nearly twice as long as conventional K1
  • 20% reduction of friction force through improved rail-contact design, reducing energy use in drive equipment
  • Compensating oil release characteristics when lubrication conditions are lacking, always ensuring smooth and stable operation
  • Long-term maintenance-free operation when equipped with K1(-L) lubrication units
