Bearings - 27/07/2026

NSK will use the forthcoming InnoTrans 2026 exhibition to showcase how its products for the rail industry guarantee reliability, efficiency and safety, even at speeds in excess of 300km/h.

The international trade fair for transport technology will be returning to Berlin from 22 – 25 September, with visitors to the German capital able to learn more about NSK’s axlebox bearings, gearbox bearings, traction motor bearings and more.

Among the solutions on display at Booth xxx in Hall xxx will be the company’s latest components for high-speed passenger trains.

Only bearings of the very highest quality are suitable for axle boxes on trains which travel at speeds of up to 320km/h. Our RCT (Railway Cartridge Tapered) sealed-clean rotating-end-cap tapered roller bearings have already proven themselves in several notable European high-speed rail projects.

Robustdyna

These bearing units offer reliability, long service life and guaranteed safety, as well as coming with innovative sealing solutions to ensure durability and optimal performance. They are able to accommodate high shock loads, axial loads, and static and dynamic radial loads.

Alongside the RCT options will be NSK’s solutions for traction motors, where requirements include power, sustainability and cost effectiveness. Traction motors in rail transport are subject to high radial and axial loads, and often have to endure strong electrical currents and high speeds. To meet these requirements, NSK offers bearings with insulated coatings and high-strength cages.

Visitors to our stand will have the chance to check out both our cylindrical roller and deep groove ball bearings, both of which can handle the high speeds and loads the industry demands, as well as being easy to install. They come with two insulation options on the outer ring: ceramic coating or PPS, a polyphenylene sulphide resin coating reinforced with glass fibre.

Finally, we will also be shining a spotlight on our gearbox bearing solutions. Subject to intense shocks and vibration arising from wheels clattering along the tracks, these bearings have traditionally required extensive and regular maintenance, meaning there is longstanding demand for solutions that contribute to extended maintenance intervals and lower costs.

With this in mind NSK has developed a series of tapered roller bearings with a specially strengthened cage (wider section) for robust performance and longer service life in gearboxes. This solution has already been adopted with great success in Japan and is increasingly popular in Europe.

In addition to taking a look at all the above, visitors to the NSK stand will also have the chance to speak with our team about our products and solutions for the sector. Our engineering expertise has helped manufacturers and operators improve reliability, extend maintenance intervals and enhance safety all over the world. Whether for high-speed passenger trains or other demanding rail environments, NSK continues to develop technologies that support the future of safe and reliable rail transport.
