Introduction

A textile manufacturing company had experienced repetitive failures at approximately 6 months in air circulation motor-fans used on their fabric furnace. During an onsite inspection, NSK found out a relatively high operating temperature in the furnace. Taking this into account, NSK proposed an alternative Deep Groove Ball Bearing type, designed specifically for the use in applications with higher temperatures. A trial was initiated which demonstrated that the bearing life was extended twice compared to standard products. This resulted in a significant reduction in maintenance costs, no unplanned breakdowns and a subsequent improvement in productivity.
