This February, NSK
undertook a major organizational shakeup.
In the continuously changing global business environment,
it is vital that NSK Headquarters take a firm grip
on management of the entire NSK Group.
The highlight of this latest reorganization is that
we have changed the previous “product-oriented”
organization to a “customer-oriented”
organization. Division-headquarters have now been
given total control of the entire product area, from
marketing and sales, production, through to R&D.
Division-headquarters will not only manage domestic
production sites, as they did before, but will also
supervise overseas production, thus clarifying business
responsibility.
The traditional intertwined authority lines that necessitated
repetitive reporting to different managers has been
untangled, with all sections in the business process
reporting vertically to their respective division-headquarters,
enabling the swift implementation of business decisions.
The new Automotive Division-Headquarters will
now control four product units: automotive bearings,
steering systems, automatic transmission components,
and needle bearings, with senior management appointed
to manage each of these four units.
The Bearings Division-Headquarters will be integrated
into the new Industrial Machinery Bearings Division-Headquarters
to strengthen our involvement in the global expansion
of bearing sales to the general industrial sector.
The functions of the former Marketing Division-Headquarters
will be broken up and integrated into the relevant
new product division-headquarters, and the Marketing
Division dissolved. |
