NSK Ltd. (President – Seiichi Asaka) has announced its decision to establish a needle roller bearing production company in China as a means of responding to the needs and requirements of a dramatically growing Chinese market.

The Chinese automotive market is experiencing dramatic growth and therefore, demand from Japanese and other automakers for needle roller bearings for automatic transmission and car air-conditioner compressor applications are expected to surge. In order to meet the region’s growing market needs, NSK Ltd. has decided to establish a needle roller bearing manufacturing capability in China.
NSK Ltd.’s initial entry into China began with the NSK Kunshan Plant. It has since established other automotive parts production bases and last year, inaugurated its Chinese technology center. The establishment of the needle roller bearing production plant in China represents the next step in NSK Ltd.’s Group strategy to strengthen its presence in China and enhance its global capabilities.
