  Dec/9/2003 NSK Celebrates opening of the NSK China Technical Center
On December 9, 2003, NSK Ltd. held a ceremony to celebrate the opening of the NSK China Technical Center. (Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province) The Honorable Mayor of Kunshan City, representatives of NSK’s major Chinese distributors, NSK’s local Chinese customers and many other distinguished guests attended this ceremony while NSK President Asaka and other Executive Officers represented NSK Ltd.

  Sep/30/2003 Mr. Furumura has been awarded the JSME Medal for Distinguished Engineers
At the ordinary meeting held by The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) at Sophia University on April 12, 2003, Mr. Kyozaburo Furumura was awarded the 2002 JSME Medal for Distinguished Engineers. This award is awarded by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers and recognizes the individual’s distinguished achievements in the areas of technical development, manufacturing technology and machinery design. The winner of this prize is selected from a pool of over 40,000 Japan Society members. Mr. Kyozaburo Furumura is a former Executive Vice President of NSK Ltd. and is presently one of its standing Auditors.

  Aug/05/2003 NSK Chairman Sekiya becomes Chairman of Japan-Poland Economic Committee
Chairman Tetsuo Sekiya was appointed Chairman of the Japan-Poland Economic Committee at the Committee's regularly held Meeting on July 24, 2003.
This Committee was established on June 19, 1972 and members of this Committee are composed of those business leaders whose companies have developed strong ties with Poland. Just to name a few, these companies include trading houses, commercial banks, manufacturers as well as construction companies.

  Jul/3/2003 NSK Ltd. Acquires Full Control of NSK Torrington
NSK Ltd. (President - Seiichi Asaka) announced today that it acquires 49.03% of the equity interest in NSK Torrington Co. Ltd. ("NTC" - President Yujiro Nagayama) from The Torrington Company ("Torrington"). This represents all of Torrington's equity interest in NTC. As result of the acquisition, NSK owns 98.06% of NTC with the remainder owned by private individuals. The company's name changes to NSK Needle Bearings Co., Ltd.

  May/26/2003 Signing ceremony formalizing acquisition of
NTN's ball screw production and testing equipment
Seiichi Asaka, President of NSK Ltd. ("NSK") and Yasunobu Suzuki, President of NTN Corporation ("NTN") will formally sign the agreement formalizing NSK's acquisition of NTN's general industrial ball screw manufacturing and testing facilities. The signing ceremony took place on May 26, 2003 at the NSK Ltd. Headquarters in Osaki.

  Apr/24/2003 NSK Announces Purchase of NTN's Ball Screw Manufacturing and Testing Equipment
NSK Ltd. ("NSK") announced today that they have reached an agreement with NTN Corporation ("NTN") to acquire the manufacturing and testing equipment related to the ball screw product from NTN.

  Feb/13/2003 Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the Timken-NSK Joint Venture in Suzhou
NSK Ltd. (NSK) and The Timken Company (Timken) today broke ground for their manufacturing joint venture, Timken-NSK Bearings (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. The agreement to form this joint venture was signed in April 2002. The mayor of Suzhou City, local government dignitaries, local business leaders and executives of both NSK and Timken were present at this ground - breaking ceremony.

  Feb/4/2003 Sale of Special Bearing Business in Europe
NSK Ltd. has reached agreement with RotoPrecision Inc.regarding the sale of all shares of Waelzlager Industriewerke Bulle AG which is wholly owned by NSK Europe Ltd., NSK’s European subsidiary in UK. Signing on the final agreement took place on January 31st, 2003 and the sale of shares is expected to close on March 31st, 2003.
